The Introduction session to LEGO Serious Play gives you an overview of where the concept comes from, a chance to experience for your self the methodology as you build models and discuss and take away your lego with you.

Introduction to LEGO SERIOUS PLAY™

It’s fun with a serious side helping uncover new insights and build confidence in teams.

SERIOUS PLAY is a concept developed over several years by Executive Discovery, part of the LEGO Group. It’s a way of bringing LEGO into the boardroom and the workplace.

It emerged out of the research and experience of a number of academics and practitioners searching for more effective ways to meet the increasingly complex and challenging demands of the business world.

Executive Discovery show their dedication to supporting the child in each and every one of us to “Play Well.”

A Team Building workshop through using LEGO SERIOUS PLAY™ is about getting more out of people for the benefit of the business − and doing that in a way that respects the uniqueness of the individual, involves everyone on an equal level and builds people’s confidence and commitment about the tasks ahead.

Business’s face the continual challenge of looking to do things better, and a vital part of this is that leaders step up to the next level. With this in mind, this year I wanted a Leadership Team Strategy Day, that was different, thought provoking, and challenging.

To achieve this I chose to have Derek Good from Rapid Results facilitate our day, and use Lego Serious Play.

“The day was the best Strategy Day I have ever been involved in. Not only was Derek an excellent facilitator, but the Lego Serious Play concept really got my leaders talking, thinking and interacting with each other to design a Strategy Plan that is different to previous years, and a plan that I believe will help us achieve success as a team and as a business. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Lego Serious Play, it was very successful for us, and the team loved it!”

Build your way to better business through LEGO SERIOUS PLAY

  • How do you know when LEGO SERIOUS PLAY™ is relevant for your organisational challenge? LEGO SERIOUS PLAY™ is based on the beliefs that:
  • Leaders do not have all the answers – their success is based on hearing all the voices in the room
  • People naturally want to contribute – they want to be part of something bigger and want to take ownership
  • Allowing each member to contribute and to speak out results in a more sustainable organisation
  • Teams often work sub-optimally as there is a wealth of knowledge and insight that is untapped

AT THE CORE OF LEGO SERIOUS PLAY ARE THE THEORETICAL ELEMENTS OF CONSTRUCTIVISM, PLAY, IMAGINATION, AND IDENTITY.
